Aquatic Center

Gaithersburg Aquatic Center

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture operates the indoor pool located next to Gaithersburg Middle School for public use after school and on weekends. The Aquatic Center consists of a six-lane, 25-yard main pool with a one-meter diving board as well as an adjacent shallow water “teach pool” area. Lockers and showers are available.

Built in 1975, the Gaithersburg Aquatic Center is owned by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) and operated jointly with the City of Gaithersburg. MCPS operates, schedules and staffs the facility for its use during school hours. The City operates, programs and staffs the pool for community use after school hours, on weekends and during summer vacation.

Currently, the pool is fully programmed during non-school hours with a variety of activities, including lap and recreational swim, water exercise classes, adult and youth swim lessons, MCPS high school varsity swim meets and practice sessions, American Red Cross lifeguard training courses, and rentals to outside groups.
