Striving for continuous improvement, the Gaithersburg Police Department is committed to providing quality, professional service to everyone. The Gaithersburg Police Department does its best to recognize its members who provide exemplary service. Community members or visitors to Gaithersburg who have had a positive experience with any police employee, or the Department as a whole, are invited to share their positive experiences by submitting a commendation either by e-mail, letter, or telephone or by completing the online Citizen Police Survey at the link below.

Sometimes, however, an individual may feel that the conduct by the Department or one of its members was substandard. In this type of situation, individuals are encouraged to bring the matter to our attention. In a fair, thorough, and impartial manner, the Gaithersburg Police Department investigates all complaints made against the Department or one of its members.

When notifying us of exemplary or substandard conduct, please be sure to identify the member(s) involved, their specific action(s), and any other pertinent information, such as date, time, and location of the incident. Or, stop by the station at 14 Fulks Corner Avenue and pick up a Commendation or Complaint Form.

A supervisor is always available to discuss matters involving our members.
