Who participates in the GYC?

The GYC primarily serves Forest Oak Middle, Gaithersburg Middle, Ridgeview Middle and Lakelands Park Middle Schools. However, participants may come from any school.

Is it safe and supervised?

Safety and proper supervision is our top priority. While our staff comes from a variety of backgrounds, they are all chosen for their abilities to work with youth in a fun, yet appropriate manner. Many of our staff members are in college and working towards their degrees, or they are older high school students who have worked with us during our summer camp season. There is always an adult supervisor on all of our trips and at dances.

How much does it cost?

Joining the GYC costs only $15/residents and $18/non-residents per year. This cost gives each participant a membership card which allows them to go to all GYC events and trips at a discounted price, and to participate in all Youth Center programs.

How do I join the GYC and register for trips and other events?

Joining the GYC is easy. Simply obtain a registration form, take it home and have your parents fill it out, and then get it back in to us. To receive your registration form you may:

  1. Stop by the main Parks and Recreation office at Bohrer Park , Summit Hall Farm, the Youth Center in Olde Towne or the Youth Center at Robertson Park
