Family Services, Inc., Ed Bohrer Parent Resource Center at Gaithersburg Elem. School
General Volunteer: Reception and secretarial duties; must be able to work well with adults and children; bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Receptionist: Greet and welcome people, help them fill out intake forms, answer the telephone, organize files, make copies and sort information. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Gaithersburg Meals on Wheels, Inc
Delivery Driver: Need drivers to deliver hot lunches and cold suppers at lunchtime to the elderly and shut-ins in the Gaithersburg area. Meals are picked up at Asbury Methodist Village: 333 Russell Ave. between 10:45 - 11:30 a.m., Monday- Friday. Containers are provided for carrying meals and delivery takes about one hour, 8 - 12 clients on each route. Children are welcome to accompany parents. Training is provided. Hours Needed: Monday - Friday; 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., or once every two weeks.

GUIDE Program at Family Services, Inc.
Tutor: Assisting student with their homework and specific subject as requested.. Monday – Thursday after 3 p.m. for at least one hour.

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County ReStore
ReStore Volunteer: Donation intake, merchandising, customer service, loading merchandise, cleaning, maintenance. Other volunteer opportunities are available upon further discussion. Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Interfaith Works, Inc
Painters/Home Décor: Paint an entire duplex house for a group of clients. This includes three bedrooms, dining room, stair way, living room and bathroom. Needed asap.

Meal Donors for the Carroll House Shelter: Volunteers to make meals at home and bring them to the shelter. Volunteers can stay and serve the residents or drop off donations at any time. 32 residents eat dinner at 5 p.m. daily. Meals can be dropped off anytime.

Manna Food
Warehouse Volunteer: Volunteer 18 years or older to help with the following:
- Food Distribution: performing a variety of tasks geared towards creating boxes of fresh food that our clients will receive on that same day. It involves, taping boxes together, cutting boxes apart, sorting through food, putting food in boxes, and helping move boxes out to client cars.
- Pre-Sorting donations of non-perishable food items.
- Housekeeping tasks related to the daily upkeep of Manna's warehouse.
The work is physical and you should be comfortable standing for a couple of hours; you may engage in some light to moderate lifting (5 – 25+ pounds) as well as bending and reaching.
This is an ongoing need.

Mobile Medical Care, Inc
Providers at Germantown Clinic: Licensed MDs, PAs and NPs needed to see uninsured patients at MobileMed’s Germantown Clinic. Monday afternoons, Tuesdays- Thursdays, and Friday mornings.

Rainbow Place Shelter
Evening Volunteer: Heat and serve dinner to clients, pack bagged lunches, clean kitchen/dining area, miscellaneous tasks as directed by staff, and some contact with clients. Monday – Friday, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. After 3/31/13 no more volunteers needed until next season 11/1/14.
Shelter Shut Down:
- Big Shelter Shut Down Day: Heavy lifting, cleaning, putting away/ storage of everything. April 1, 12 – 3 p.m.
- Daytime Assistance: Cleaning, laundry, storage of remaining items, sorting donations. April 2, April 4; 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Senior Connection
Escort Drivers for Senior Citizens: Volunteers from Gaithersburg/Germantown to provide escorted transportation to medical appointments, the grocery store and offer companionship to seniors often living alone. Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. for medical transportation. Monday – Sunday any hours for grocery shopping and other errands. Schedules are flexible. Minimum age 21.

Stepping Stones Shelter
Cleaner/Yard Worker: Vacuuming, dusting, organizing, sweeping, disinfecting, etc. is needed all throughout the shelter. Seasonal outdoor jobs include raking leaves, mowing the lawn, planting, watering plants, etc. We have small tasks that need to be done daily as well as deep cleaning that should be done on a fairly regular basis. Monday - Friday, flexible hours. Some weekends.
Clothing Closet Organizer: Sort through clothing donations and put away in proper places within the clothing closet. Fill clothing requests for residents. Monday - Friday, flexible hours between 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Donation Drive: Conduct a drive at your school, church, organization or neighborhood to collect needed items for the shelter and our residents. Drive ideas include but are not limited to: paper products, gift cards, cleaning supplies, diapers, bedding, or even birthday kits (cake mix, icing, candles, cups, etc.). We need these items to keep our shelter running and also to give to families when they move out. A full needs list can be found on our website. This is an off-site activity. You can do this whenever you choose.
Donations Sorter: Sort through donations from community members. Put donations away in proper places in the shelter. Fill item requests for current and past residents. Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Meal Provider: Provide an evening meal for the residents. Would like to find individuals, groups or congregations willing to “adopt a day” of the month to bring in a meal (i.e., every second Tuesday of the month). Dinners must serve 15 - 20 people and can be prepared at home and brought at the shelter. Can be ongoing or a one-time meal donation. Sunday - Thursday evenings, meals served at 6 p.m.

Activity Center at Bohrer Park Volunteer Positions:
- Information Booth Attendant (Paws in the Park): Sit at the Gaithersburg information tent and talk to people about our upcoming programs and activities. Prior knowledge about City programs and events preferable. April 28, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Arts Barn Volunteer Positions:
- Art Camp Assistants: Assist art teachers with performing art camps or visual art camps. Training is provided. Summer 2013 - between 6/17/2013 and 8/16/2013. Each camp lasts one week. 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Concession Stand Assistant: Assist with selling concessions-soda, candy, chips, cookies and wine and beer for select adult shows. Volunteer is able to see the performance complimentary. Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Must be over 21 to sell wine and beer.

City Hall Concert Pavilion Volunteer Positions:
- Safety Assistant: Help monitor the children attending the concert - Keep them from climbing trees, inappropriately going onto the stage, walking out of the pavilion area on to Summit Ave., etc. Thursdays, June 6th - August 8th (excluding Thursday, July 4th) 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Jingle Jubilee-Costume Characters, Character Guides, Santa Line Helpers: Wear costumes and hand out giveaways to children, help guide characters around the pavilion, help monitor the line and make sure no one cuts line. Saturday, December 7, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
