The City of Gaithersburg has produced an informational video to help explain codes and regulations related to overcrowding and illegal occupancy, which can often result in dangerous situations; some where even lives can be lost. When a home is overcrowded or houses illegal bedrooms, often there is a lack of emergency escapes and fire detection devices and misuse of cooking appliances. These situations are preventable and in the City of Gaithersburg, measures are being taken to ensure every residence is a safe one.
