Committees

The City of Gaithersburg enjoys a long history of civic involvement.  Through a variety of volunteer committees, Gaithersburg residents play an important role in advising the Mayor and City Council on vital issues - from economic development and planning to environmental affairs and cultural arts.  In fact, 250 people currently volunteer their time as members of 21 boards, commissions and committees.

You, too, can have an impact on issues of importance to your community.  The City encourages you to participate on a committee that may deal with issues of personal interest or require special expertise that only you can bring to the table.  All City committee members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

If you are interested in serving on any committees, please send a letter of interest and a resume to: Mayor and City Council, 31 South Summit Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877.

For more information contact City Hall at 301-258-6310 or cityhall@gaithersburgmd.gov.
