Sidney A. Katz
My name is Sidney Katz and I have had the honor of being the Mayor of the greatest city in the world Gaithersburg, Maryland for the last fifteen years.
I have served on numerous committees, the Planning Commission and was on the City Council for 20 years. I am a past president of both the Montgomery Chapter of the Maryland Municipal League, as well as a past president for the State of Maryland. I am honored to be in the Maryland Municipal League Hall of Fame.
I have lived in Gaithersburg my entire life; attended local schools and graduated from the University of Maryland. My wife, Sally and I have raised two daughters who graduated from Quince Orchard High School.
The City Council and I have worked together to keep our city debt free and have one of the lowest tax rates in our area. At the same time, we are proud to provide excellent city services that so many enjoy. We have received numerous awards and recognition over the years. I would like to individually list them, but we are limited to only 250 words for this statement!
We continue to work with all levels of government and agencies to address our concerns.
With your assistance we have been able to achieve much, but our work is still far from complete.
I sincerely appreciate your allowing me to be Mayor and I ask that you please vote for Sidney Katz for Mayor on Tuesday, November 5th.

Henry F. Marraffa, Jr.
I am Henry Marraffa and I am proud to say I have served the city of Gaithersburg for over 20 years in various capacities. It has been a very rewarding experience. I have announced my candidacy for my 6th term on the city council. During this time I have helped build Gaithersburg into a great city that is rated in the top 20 cities in the country to live and raise your kids. We are debt free and have only raised the rate of taxes on our citizens once in 46 years. We are a great city to live, work and play.
Some of the projects I was responsible for: the Kentland’s, Lakeland’s, Quince Orchard Park, Washingtonian RIO, Re-vitalization of Olde Towne, Hidden Creek, Archstone, Bohrer Park with our Activity Center, Water Park, Skate Park and Miniature Golf. And our newest projects Crown Farm and Watkins Mill/Parklands. Both world class town centers with commercial and residential communities.
I helped to bring Medimmune to the city, as well other valuable businesses that bring jobs taxes to our city. Gaithersburg has the best recreational department with its park, activities, entertainment, summer camps and outdoor concerts. Our police department has grown and we are a very safe city to live. All of these efforts allow Gaithersburg to be a great place to live, work and play.
I plan to continue to bring jobs via good businesses, re-develop aging neighborhoods, keep working on the vitalization of Olde Towne and the Lake Forest Mall.

Michael A. Sesma
It has been an honor and privilege to serve you as a member of the Gaithersburg City Council since 2005.
My work and leadership on the City Council has focused on insuring the quality of life that makes Gaithersburg a Great American City while building a framework to position and prepare Gaithersburg for the immediate and future opportunities and challenges of a revived and growing economy. I have acted to promote the vital interests of residents and families while pursuing innovative approaches to support local businesses and build a sustainable economy. This requires a commitment to realistic solutions, not grandstanding. It requires a belief in transparent, open and common sense government that works for everyone. It requires an open mind, a readiness to listen and careful judgment. These are the commitments I have brought since my election to the City Council and what I promise will continue.
I will continue to work to develop a comprehensive strategy to stimulate and reward business investments that enhance economic vitality and diversity; to innovate, create and implement programs that promote environmental protection, energy conservation and sustainability; and to refine policies and practices to maintain and strengthen the city as an exceptional place for families to live, work, learn and play.
