The Mayor and City Council are seeking to fill one vacancy on the Animal Control Board, one (1) Alternate representative of the Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association or shall have training and/or experience in the proper training or care of animals.
The Animal Control Board reviews and acts on decisions and orders of the City's Animal Control Division. Among the issues board members deal with are revocation, suspension and failure to renew or issue pet shop licenses; impoundment of animals; governing of hearings; and recommending changes to the City's Animal Control Ordinances.
The Board consists of five members and two alternates who are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. Members serve staggered, three-year terms and meet as needed.
