Gaithersburg's Summer Recreation Guide Now Available

The Summer 2012 Leisure Times, Gaithersburg’s comprehensive guide to recreation programs and services, is now available at City facilities. It is also mailed to most households within Gaithersburg City limits, and can be viewed online at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/classes.
Summer class registration for City of Gaithersburg residents begins June 4. Nonresidents may register beginning June 6.
This summer edition of the Leisure Times introduces a variety of new classes and programs for the whole family. Get in shape with the latest fitness craze Piloxing, a mash-up of Pilates, boxing, and ballet. Put a new spin on your workout with HoopFit!, a combination of hoop moves with a variety of exercise techniques. Pre-Ballet and Modern Dance is perfect for the aspiring Martha Graham or Baryshnikov. Learn about trends, wardrobe essentials, and beauty and cosmetics with the new fashion workshop Runway to Real Life. Dip into a variety of water exercise classes and swim lessons at the newly renovated Water Park. As always, you’ll find class favorites including Zumba, ballroom dance, Step Rocks!, Well-Mannered Dog Training, Yoga, computer classes, and more.
Arts classes and workshops for children and adults, including painting, drawing, musical theater, sewing, and stained glass, are offered at the Arts Barn, Gaithersburg’s premiere cultural arts facility. Registration for these classes is ongoing and takes place year 'round.
