Finalists for Gaithersburg Planning & Code Administration Director Announced

Five finalists for the position of Director of Planning & Code Administration have been invited to Gaithersburg for an all-day interview session and a public meet and greet opportunity on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.  More than 60 applicants from across the country submitted resumes, which were screened by a recruitment consultant and an internal committee.  Video conference interviews were conducted with ten candidates, and from that pool the finalists were selected.

The finalists are:

Darryn Burich -  Appleton, Wisconsin
Charles Graves - Cincinnati, Ohio
Margaret Pearson - Gastonia, North Carolina
John Schlichting - Gaithersburg, Maryland
Eric Soter - Emmitsburg, Maryland

During the day on May 15 the candidates will be interviewed by four panels, two comprised of representatives from the community and members of City boards, commissions, and committees, one made up of staff members from the Department of Planning & Code Administration, and one comprised of the City's Senior Leadership Team.

From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. the public is invited to meet the candidates at a reception to be held at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, located at 506 S. Frederick Avenue next to Gaithersburg High School.  The candidates will make brief statements to the audience, and then will be available for individual questions. The public is encouraged to provide feedback using comment cards that will be provided.
