Laugh Out Loud with Fuddy Meers at Art Barn
Posted 7/20/2012
In partnership with Montgomery Playhouse, the Arts Barn presents Fuddy Meers, a comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire. The show runs August 10 through 26, 2012, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Admission is $16, $14 for City residents. This show contains adult language and mature themes and is appropriate for those 17 and older.
Fuddy Meers tells the story of Claire, an amnesiac who awakens each morning as a blank slate. As she attempts to regain her memory one morning, she is abducted by a limping, lisping man who claims her husband wants to kill her. This sets off one harrowing and hilarious turn after another as Claire spends the day trying to decipher her fractured life while being surrounded by a group of alarmingly bizarre characters.
“Like the resourceful chef who turns leftovers into haute cuisine, Mr. Lindsay-Abaire blends clichéd ingredients into something savory and distinctive…[a] dark, sweet and thoroughly engaging comedy," says the New York Times.
The Arts Barn, Gaithersburg’s premier cultural arts facility, is located at 311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg. For more information and tickets call 301-258-6394 or visit the Theatre at the Arts Barn web page.
