Registration Now Open for 5K Run/Walk through Winter Lights Displays

The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with The Montgomery County Road Runners Club, invites all runners and walkers to participate in “Run Under The Lights 2012,” a 5K Run/Walk through the magical setting of Gaithersburg’s Winter Lights Festival at Seneca Creek State Park on Saturday, November 17, 2012.  Race time is at 6:15 p.m. Winter Lights features more than 360 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays.  Theme areas include Winter Woods, Teddy Bear Land, Victorian Village, North Pole, Toyland, and Penguin Cove. 

17th Annual Gaithersburg Winter Lights FestivalThe 5K Run/Walk Under the Lights will be chip timed for those who wish to compete.  The walk will be untimed.  Due to parking limitations, the event is limited to 750 participants.  Registration is $30 for both the chip-timed race and the walk until November 7.  November 8 through race day, registration will be $35.  To register, please visit http://www.mcrrc.org/LightsRun/run-under-lights-2012

Winter Lights will open as a drive through festival with special preview nights on November 23 and 24, and then will be open for the season from November 30 through December 31.  Please note that the festival is closed on December 25.  For hours, admission fees and more information visit www.gaithersburgmd.gov/winterlights or call 301-258-6350.
