All Aboard StoryTime Station at the Community Museum

Posted 1/9/2013

StoryTime Station at the Gaithersburg Community MuseumThe City of Gaithersburg invites you and your child to enjoy monthly book readings during “StoryTime Station,” an enriching new program at the Gaithersburg Community Museum.  The 45-minute readings, recommended for children ages 3 to 6, will take place on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Admission is $3 per child, adults and infants are free.  Please note strollers are not permitted inside the Museum, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Located in the restored 1884 B&O Railroad Station complex near the intersection of Summit and Diamond Avenues in Olde Towne, the Gaithersburg Community Museum features educational exhibits and programs designed to spark interest and imagination about our City’s history.  Interactive displays include a bank, school room and general mercantile store.  The Museum is located in the restored B&O Railroad complex, and consists of the historic Freight House, History Park and the rolling stock.

Bring your camera to StoryTime.  Participants will have a chance to take a photo of their child aboard the Museum’s restored 1918 locomotive.  Advance purchase is recommended as space is limited.  To purchase tickets online, visit www.gaithersburgmd.gov/recxpress.  You may also purchase tickets in person at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, the Arts Barn, the Community Museum, or at the door if available.  For more information, call 301-258-6160 or visit the City’s Community Museum website at www.gaithersburgmd.gov/museum
