Skate ParkThis 12,300 square foot skate park is designed for skateboards, inline skates, and BMX bikes.  The park includes ramps and structures suitable for a wide range of skill levels.  Some obstacles include, an A-frame ramp and rail, mini-half pipe, 7-6' escalator, stairs, pyramid wedge, fun boxes, wall ride, and several quarters and banks of varying heights.  All ramps are constructed with a wood frame and Skatelite surface.  The ground is newly refurbished with an ultra-smooth acrylic paint allowing for even speed from ground to ramps.

Other amenities include vending machines, coin-operated lockers, helmet/pad rentals, and an outdoor stereo system.  The Park was built and is operated by the city of Gaithersburg Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture.

 

Skate Park Regulations:

  • Skate ParkParticipants must have a signed waiver on file.
  • All participants assume all risk of injury.  The City of Gaithersburg and its agents are not responsible for any injuries.
  • Skate at your own risk
  • Helmets are required for ALL skaters/bikers, and in-line skaters must also wear wrist guards.  Elbow & knee pads are recommended, but not required.
  • Do not use ramps beyond your ability.
  • Participants must be under control.
  • Participants must exit and enter through the designated area.
  • No drugs, alcohol, or smoking.
  • Profanity is prohibited.
  • No littering.
  • No loitering after facility is closed.
  • Only skateboarders, in-line skaters, and BMX bikers are permitted to use the ramps (no scooters).
  • Skaters must follow the direction of City Staff.  Any opposition to cooperate will result in the loss of skating privileges.
  • All children under the age of 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
  • No skating outside the premises.
  • All participants must wear shirts.
