Spring Sports

The City of Gaithersburg presents opportunities for youth to participate in sports activities in a non-competitive atmosphere. Our emphasis is on fun, participation, team building and skill development. At most of our youth programs, score is not kept during the games. Sportsmanship and respect of players, officials, coaches and parents is emphasized. Our coaches are volunteers who wish to provide such opportunities that were afforded to them in their youth. All of our coaches are trained and certified through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association.

General Information:

  • Registration starts February 1.
  • Registration ends March 7. EXCEPTIONS: the Start Smart Programs which are limited to the first 20 participants who register.
  • Most leagues play 9 weeks: 2 practice weeks and 7 weeks of games.

  • Practices are held at local school and park fields.
