Registration is now open for Gaithersburg Sports Summer Clinics, featuring gymnastics, tennis, and volleyball for ages 5 to 18. Clinics are a great way to learn the fundamentals, hone existing skills, or prepare for the next sports season.
Gymnastics clinics will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for two weeks starting June 19. Participants will learn skills on the bars and balance beam and in vaulting and tumbling. Skills are taught in a safe, progressive order to build strength, flexibility and confidence. Clinics are open to new and continuing students ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 14.
Our goal: To provide a fun and safe summer experience for our participants.
Tennis clinics will meet throughout the summer starting the week of June 18 for youth ages 7 to 11. A variety of sessions, consisting of eight two-hour classes, will be offered. Instruction will be given on basic ground strokes, footwork, movement to the ball, court positioning, net play, strategy, scorekeeping, and general knowledge of the game.
A variety of volleyball clinics will be held throughout the summer for different grade groups. One-week clinics will be held for grades 6 to 8 starting July 9 and grades 4 to 6 starting August 6. A four-day clinic will be held for grades 9 to 12 starting July 30. Instruction includes the fundamentals of passing, setting, and spiking, along with offensive and defensive strategies. Players will experience "game like" situations during drills and scrimmages. Please use the grade your child will be entering in the fall.
