The DEA is for the use and enjoyment of City of Gaithersburg residents, DEA Members and their guests only. Dogs must be currently licensed with the City of Gaithersburg or their home jurisdiction to use the facility. Others are welcome to visit facilities located elsewhere in Montgomery County.
The DEA is located in Green Park and comprises approximately one acre of fenced land separated into two sections. The upper level is approximately 17,000 sq. ft. and has a bluestone dust-based ground cover. The lower level is approximately 43,000 sq. ft. and is grass covered. Both levels have benches, seasonal drinking water stations and dog waste bag dispensers. The lower level also has shade trees and a pavilion with seating.
The facility has ample free parking close to the upper level entrance.
Please be considerate of the residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Park only in the designated DEA parking lot, not in the adjacent townhouse communities.
For the safety of all dogs and their human companions, please respect this facility and its users. Secure the outer gate as soon as you enter or exit the facility. Never open the inner gate until the outer gate is secured. Dog owners are responsible to abide by all of the rules of the DEA, which can be found in the Related Documents section.
Please Note: Violations of the rules may result in a fine of $100 per incident.
USE OF THE PARK IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. The Dog Exercise Area is not supervised. You are legally responsible for the dogs and people you bring to the facility, everything they do, your own safety and that of your dogs. The City of Gaithersburg assumes no responsibility or liability for any misconduct of dogs or their owners.
Additionally, for health and safety purposes, portions of the DEA will be closed as necessary for maintenance. The lower level section may be closed several weeks annually for turf maintenance.
