The Arts Barn will be closed to the public for repair & maintenance work as of August 5, 2019. Construction is scheduled to be completed in September 2019. The anticipated reopening is during the week of October 1, 2019.
In accordance with the City’s no-debt policy, funds have been set aside in a Capital Improvement Project fund over the past several years to conduct exterior brick repointing, to replace the roof, and to replace the building’s HVAC system. The new system is designed to be more efficient and more quiet, an important aspect for a performing arts venue. So that all projects can be conducted simultaneously and as expeditiously as possible, the building will be closed to the public during the construction. An additional closure will also be necessary for a few days in the fall for final work on the HVAC system.
On stage activities are expected to resume with a performance by standup comic Danny Rouhier on Friday, October 18.
