City Joins Filipino-American Association to Support Troops
The City joins the Filipino-American Association of Bethesda in collecting items for care packages.
The City of Gaithersburg joins the Filipino-American Association of Bethesda in collecting items for care packages to send to troops deployed overseas during the holiday season. A collection box is located in the lobby of the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Avenue. Donations will be accepted until November 8.
Accepted items include:
Food: candy, trail mix, beef jerky, individual peanut butter packets, water flavoring packets/MiO, individual tuna packs, 5-hour ENERGY, hot sauce, granola and protein bars, cookies, etc.
Hygiene: toothpaste, disposable razors, individual toothbrushes, soap, Chapstick, feminine items (tampons/pads), Tide pods, dryer sheets, hand sanitizer, etc.
Additional items: black pens, eye masks (for sleeping), pillow cases, inexpensive headphones, Uno cards, playing cards, black boot socks, hand written notes, and holiday cards.
Please do not donate chips, perishable foods, homemade items, or aerosol cans (shaving cream or hair spray).
