The Board of Appeals hears & decides special exceptions and authorizes variances from the City's Zoning Ordinance.
Consisting of five members & one alternate, the Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial committee that hears & decides special exceptions and authorizes variances from the strict application of the terms or requirements of the City's Zoning Ordinance. Additionally, the Board conducts administrative reviews of any final order, requirement, decision or determination made by any administrative official, department of the City government (as allowed by the City Code), Planning Commission, or Historic District Commission.
