The City of Gaithersburg is proposing an amendment to the Federal Fiscal Year 2025 Action Plan. As an entitlement community for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development (HUD), the City has received funds to address the following national objectives and goals set by HUD: to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons in the City of Gaithersburg.
Action Plans outline the activities the City intends to undertake with CDBG funds in the year ahead to address priority needs and local objectives identified in its five-year Consolidated Plan, its Annual Strategic Plan and estimates the number and type of families to benefit from such proposed activities.
The City has proposed an amendment to the 2025 Action Plan. The City is recommending reprogramming previously unspent funds to two public improvement projects in a low/mod area of the City of Gaithersburg. The first project is the design work for the historic train station renovations. The second project is the replacement of the HVAC system at the historic Community Museum.
