“Building Bridges”

The City presents “Building Bridges: Connecting Our Global Roots,” an exhibit highlighting the international diversity of our City, and the works of Magruder Murray in honor of African American History Month. The exhibit is on display January 24 through September 7, 2020. Due to COVID-19, Gallery viewing hours are subject to change. Please call in advance.

“Building Bridges” was curated from a call to artists and by invitation and includes paintings, drawings and photographs depicting different areas & peoples of the world. Featured artists include Astrid Adler, Judy Anderson, Leonid Bendersky, Howard Clark, Linda Constant Robinson, Stephen Dell’Aria, Michalina Eisenberg, Trisha Gupta, Edward Johanson, Lily Kak, Irina Koren, Michael Kuchinsky, Christine Luckman, Jane McDonald, Barbara Mandel, Emil Markulis, Rodney K. Mayer, Jean Phillips, Julia Rosenbaum, Audrey Schiminger, Elizabeth Steel, Francine Stowe-Sinkler, Alexandra Treadaway-Hoare, Richard Weiblinger, and Alexey Zoob.

Featured artist Magruder Murray, from Washington, D.C., uses themes revolving mostly around African & Caribbean art in this exhibit. His mixed media works using pastels, oils & acrylics are done with boldness in composition and are often very vibrant & colorful.
