The City operates under a decentralized procurement system; individual Departments are responsible for purchasing those goods and services required to perform their functions. The Procurement Division acts as a liaison between Departments, responsible for administering and enforcing purchasing policies and procedures; identifying and establishing procurement strategies, methods and processes; and providing assistance with solicitation development, negotiations and contract awards.

All formal solicitations and select informal solicitations (requests for quotes) will be published here and be advertised on the State of Maryland’s eMaryland Marketplace. Vendors interested in doing business with the City should register with eMaryland Marketplace. In addition, vendors may subscribe to the City’s eNewsletter to receive email notifications when new solicitations are published.

Olde Towne Sidewalk Improvements

The City of Gaithersburg (“City”) desires to contract with an experienced and qualified Contractor for the E. Diamond Pedestrian Improvements project.. The funding for this project will be through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Federal legislation and regulations have established national objectives of benefiting low and moderate income persons under the Code of Federal Regulations.

The City has a goal to remove the existing pavers and portions of concrete in order to improve accessibility along E. Diamond Avenue area of Olde Towne Gaithersburg as shown in Exhibit A. The areas shown in lightblue are approximate pavement replacement areas and the areas in pink are approximate concrete replacement areas. The improvements must meet ADA requirements to the fullest extent.

The City’s budget for this work is approximately $290,000.

The contract work is to be completed by March 30, 2026. The Contractor shall work with the adjacent properties to maintain access.
