The City operates under a decentralized procurement system; individual Departments are responsible for purchasing those goods and services required to perform their functions. The Procurement Division acts as a liaison between Departments, responsible for administering and enforcing purchasing policies and procedures; identifying and establishing procurement strategies, methods and processes; and providing assistance with solicitation development, negotiations and contract awards.

All formal solicitations and select informal solicitations (requests for quotes) will be published here and be advertised on the State of Maryland’s eMaryland Marketplace. Vendors interested in doing business with the City should register with eMaryland Marketplace. In addition, vendors may subscribe to the City’s eNewsletter to receive email notifications when new solicitations are published.

The City of Gaithersburg is seeking an experienced and qualified Contractor to provide construction services to replace approximately 1,020 sq. ft. of pressure-treated wooden boardwalk in front of the B&O Train Station, located at 5 South Summit Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.

The funding for this project will be through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Any contract resulting from this solicitation shall be subject to additional reporting as necessary to fulfill grant fund requirements.

The Contractor and any subcontractors must pay the Federal Davis Bacon wage rates for this Construction project under General Decision Number: MD20260120 dated 6/4/2026.
