DiVerse@Casey Poetry Nights

Casey Community Center is partnering with DiVerse Gaithersburg to showcase poets from the DMV area. Readings from featured poets will be followed by a conversation and an open mic session, where community members are invited to share their own original poems. DiVerse Gaithersburg presents poets with diverse experiences and backgrounds from across the metro area, including Gaithersburg. Join us on the first Thursday of every month for an inspiring evening of poetry and conversation.

All events are free and begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise stated.

Meet the Poets

Kristin Kowalski Ferragut
Event Host
Kristin Kowalski Ferragut writes poetry, songs, short stories and essays. She lives in Maryland where she teaches, plays guitar, sings, rides her bike, and hosts the DiVerse Gaithersburg Poetry Reading and Open Mic. She is author of the full-length poetry collection Escape Velocity (Kelsay Books, 2021) and the children's book Becoming the Enchantress: A Magical Transgender Tale (Loving Healing Press, 2021). Her poetry has appeared in Beltway Quarterly, Bourgeon, Anti-Heroin Chic, Fledgling Rag, Little Patuxent Review, and Gargoyle Magazine among others.
