The Community Museum invites young visitors to explore hands-on activities and experiments with its “Inquiring Minds” series, featuring a different theme each week. The drop-in program takes place Wednesday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to noon July 3 through August 14. The series is suitable for ages five and older.


  • July 3, 2019 - Big Blocks, Big Games
    Get active with a morning of over-sized fun.

  • July 10, 2019 - Bugs
    Meet some bugs courtesy of Echoes of Nature & then make fun bug crafts.

  • July 17, 2019 - Moon
    50 years ago man took his first steps on the moon. During today’s Inquiring Minds, have fun with lunar activities & enjoy a moon-related story time at 10:30 & 11:30 a.m.

  • July 24, 2019 - Money
    The U.S. Mint, the Montgomery Coin Club & the Gaithersburg Financial Wellness Coalition will join us with information and money-related crafts & activities.

  • July 31, 2019 - Music
    Explore musical instruments and make some of your own. Musicians from Victor Litz will join us with hands-on musical activities.

  • August 7, 2019 - Magnets
    Unleash your imagination. Explore, experiment, & play with magnets.

  • August 14, 2019 - Color
    Experiment, play, & learn all about color.

Supplies are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Admission is free; donations to cover program costs are appreciated. This is a drop-in program.
