Experience the elegance and charm of historic Kentlands Mansion with its new Garden Gatherings series. The elegant, beautifully landscaped 19th century estate offers the perfect backdrop for a lively happy hour, a family game night, and hands-on gardening activities.


  • Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
    Thursday, July 12, 2018, 6 – 7:30 p.m.
    Join City of Gaithersburg elected officials for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the enhanced outdoor garden that now features a water fountain, flowering trees and a flagstone walkway. The evening will feature live painting by Michelle Izquierdo, a Murder Mystery teaser by a Taste for Murder Productions, and complimentary refreshments by Stone Soup Catering. The ceremony is free and open to the public.

  • Canines & Cocktails
    Thursday, July 19, 2018, 6 – 8 p.m.
    You and your pooch are invited to “Yappy Hour” in the garden. Canines & Cocktails features Carolina-style hickory smoked barbeque by Bangin BBQ, plus beer and wine available for purchase. Bark! Natural will be handing out complimentary goodie bags and treats. Leashed pets welcome; no retractable leashes. Dogs must be current on their vaccinations and should enjoy the company of other animals and people. Cost is $5 per dog at the door.

  • Family Game Night
    Friday, August 3, 2018, 6 – 8 p.m.
    Grab your games or use ours for a fun Friday night of outdoor play. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy family time on the grounds of Kentlands Mansion. Carolina-style hickory smoked barbeque by Bangin BBQ will be available for purchase. Cost is $5 per person at the door.

  • Garden Thyme
    Monday, September 17, 2018, 4:30 – 6 p.m.
    Learn about upcycled gardening and plant a mini herb garden to take home and enjoy. There’ll also be garden trivia and a garden scavenger hunt for a chance to win a gardening kit. Scouts welcome! Cost is $12 per person. Gardening fun badges are available for an extra $1. Must request badge at time of registration. Guardians must accompany minors.
