• General Activities – Enjoy a variety of activities including sports and games, arts and crafts, special holiday events, billiards, PlayStation, Wii, Xbox, foosball, table tennis, and special interest groups.

• Rock-Climbing Wall – Students can learn the basics of rock climbing from trained staff. All climbers must have a waiver signed by their parents before participating. Use of the climbing wall is limited to Gaithersburg Youth Club (GYC) members and staff. Climbing is available to students aged 10 and up, and participants must have a completed waiver. Trained staff supervise Open Climb sessions, which are held at designated times as listed on the Youth Center calendar. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

• GYC Open Gym – Starting in September, Open Gym takes place on Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Play basketball, indoor soccer, and more! Permission slips are available at the Youth Center.

• Girlzz Breaks/Boyzz Breaks – These are excellent mentoring activities for middle school boys and girls. Sessions include snacks, activities, and open discussions on topics such as peer pressure, self-esteem, stress, school, health and hygiene, safety, and more!

• Environmental Fun – Engage in fun learning activities that align with the environmentally friendly features of the Youth Center at Robertson Park.

• Computer/Study Room – A quiet space equipped with computers is available for students to complete homework or conduct research.

• Homework Club/Tutoring Program – Students can receive homework help every day from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. at the Youth Center. High school and college-aged GYC staff are available to assist with assignments and improve reading and writing skills.

• “Cheers for Volunteers!” Community Service Program – Students looking to earn service learning hours are welcome to join! The Youth Center organizes monthly service projects. Information and permission slips are provided for each project.

A shuttle service to the Youth Center in Robertson Park is available after school for GYC members attending Ridgeview and Lakelands Middle Schools.

• Eligibility – Any middle school student can participate. Registration forms are available at the Youth Center, the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, or in the Documents section of this page. Students attending Lakelands Park, Ridgeview, and Kingsview Middle Schools can also obtain forms at their school.

• Yearly Membership Fee – $25 for Residents / $30 for Nonresidents.

• Membership Cards – GYC members will receive a membership card. The student MUST show his/her card to ride the GYC Shuttle and participate at the Youth Centers. There is an additional $5 charge to replace a lost card

• “Drop-in” Center – The Youth Center operates as a "drop-in" facility. Students must sign in when they arrive but can leave at any time to walk home or be picked up by a parent.
