The Water Park, located within the 57-acre campus of Bohrer Park, opened in 1990 and has served approximately 1.6 million patrons; nearly 80,000 annually. This facility is used by families, summer camps and day care providers. It provides a safe and active environment that serves as a popular outdoor recreation facility for more than 70,000 Gaithersburg residents and nearby communities.

A major attraction at the Water Park (for those 48 inches and taller) is the newly updated double water slide that is 250-feet long and twists and turns into the main pool. The children's splash pool, designed for children 54 inches tall and under, includes a custom in-water play structure with open and closed flume slides. The pool also has a zero-depth entry, making it accessible to all.
