Labor Day Weekend Closure & Recycling Notice (9/7/2026)

Most City offices and facilities will be closed on Sept. 7; click here for a list of exceptions.
Recycling collection for Sept. 7 will be collected on Sept. 5. Bulk pickup will not be unavailable.
Select streets in the Kentlands and Lakelands will be closed, and some parking restrictions will be in place on Sept. 5 for the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K.
The Labor Day Parade will take place on Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. in Olde Towne. Please note that streets on and near the parade route will be closed.
Mayor & City Council Regular Session will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The Department of Communication and Public Engagement is responsible for the City’s media relations. The department works with the media to inform residents of City projects, initiatives, and events.
