Each year, Gaithersburg’s Mayor and City Council adopt a set of policy priorities reflecting their positions on targeted issues to guide the City’s efforts in participating meaningfully in the Maryland General Assembly session.

With the support of our partners in the state legislature, our intent is to have these priorities considered and eventually moved through the legislative process. Gaithersburg’s strength and success in Annapolis has been due in no small part to the extraordinary representation provided by our District 17 and District 39 delegations, who have advocated vigorously on behalf of the City through the years. We appreciate and depend upon their leadership and support.

• Modernizing Municipal Revenue Streams
• Allow the county, state, or local government to initiate an out-of-cycle appeal to the State Department of Assessments and Taxation
