For over a decade, I’ve had the honor to serve you as Mayor of Gaithersburg. Together, we’ve kept city taxes low, balanced the budget, and set the stage for transformative projects like the redevelopment of Lakeforest and the I‑270/Watkins Mill interchange. We’ve grown our economy while expanding affordable housing and environmental initiatives.‌ I’ve also worked to help our most vulnerable: supporting food assistance, emergency rental aid, and nonprofit partnerships that provide care and crisis relief. My passion for service drives me every day and, with your vote, we can continue building a safer, stronger, kinder Gaithersburg for all.

Candidate for Mayor Tiffany Kelly

Full Statement and Biographical Information

My name is Tiffany Kelly, and I’m running for Mayor to ensure our city works for everyone. I know firsthand the struggles of housing costs, raising a family, and building a small business. I’ve worked for decades across nonprofits and government, solving problems and making sure resources reach people who need them. My vision is clear: affordable housing, innovative city services, economic opportunity, a world-class educational experience, and a government that leads with empathy and accountability. Gaithersburg can be a model city for Montgomery County and beyond. This is our moment; together, we can build the future Gaithersburg deserves.

Full Statement and Biographical Information

Serving as a Councilmember for the City of Gaithersburg has been an honor, and I am seeking re-election to continue strengthening our community. My approach is simple: listen to residents, respond to their concerns, and make thoughtful decisions that reflect our shared values.

As liaison to the Senior Advisory Committee, I have championed intergenerational priorities, including support for a study of a new multigenerational center. I’ve also worked to advance affordable housing and development that is sustainable, balanced, and community-oriented - so we create vibrant neighborhoods while protecting quality of life. I remain guided by my campaign theme: Empowered by Community.

Jim McNultyCandidate for City Council Jim McNulty

Full Statement and Biographical Information

It has been my honor to serve the people of Gaithersburg these past four years. Leadership, Experience and Trust are key factors in this race. I have built a reputation as a consensus builder, someone who asks the right questions, and brings people together toward practical solutions. As the only elected representative at any level (municipal, county, state or federal) who lives on the east side of Gaithersburg, I bring an important and often missing voice to City Hall. I’m proud of what we’ve done, but there’s much work still to do. Visit jimmcnulty.org to learn more.

Chris ThomsCandidate for City Council Chris Thoms

Full Statement and Biographical Information

I have seen too many friends move out of Gaithersburg because of a lack of affordability, inconvenient transportation, and better job opportunities. I pledge to support housing affordability, public safety, improvements to our transportation network, school quality, and growing Gaithersburg’s economy.

I was raised in Kentlands, graduated from Quince Orchard HS, and studied Economics at UMBC where I competed in Cross Country & Track. After graduating, I decided to dedicate myself to public service and I now work in Legislative Affairs for the State of Maryland. I’m asking for your Vote to help chart a brighter future for our city.

Omodamola WilliamsCandidate for City Council Omodamola Williams

Full Statement and Biographical Information

I am a father, a neighbor, and an advocate. I rebuilt my business after previously losing housing and employment. I want limits on rent increases, equitable development, safer streets, and better code enforcement. I have organized with Young People for Progress, the Montgomery County Racial Equity Network, and the Climate Justice Co-Creation Initiative. I serve on the boards of Housing Justice Montgomery and the Collaboration Council. Gaithersburg's government should reflect all of its constituents. It is vital to have someone with my experience and my history of activism on the City Council. I will be a voice for the unheard.
