The City is seeking election judges for its 2019 municipal elections, being held on Tuesday, November 5. Judges are needed for six polling places located throughout the City and for two early voting sessions being held at City Hall prior to Election Day.
To be eligible for consideration, interested applicants must be registered to vote in Montgomery County. Residency within the City of Gaithersburg is not required. Attendance at an election judge training session is mandatory.
Judges may work either full or half-day shifts. A full day is from 6:15 a.m. until the closing of the polls. Half-day shifts are available from 6:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 1 p.m. until close of polls. Judges are compensated at a rate of $175 for a full day shift and $112.50 for a half-day shift.
Shifts for early voting sessions at City Hall are also available. Each early voting session is scheduled for seven hours and will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 26 & 27, from 9 a.m. until the closing of the polls. The compensation rate for an early voting shift is $112.50.
This year we will also be allowing students age 16 or older to assist our election judges at the polls. The students will not be paid, but SSL hours will be available. Students will also be required to attend election judge training.
