Unofficial results for the November 5, 2019 municipal election for three City Council Members have been announced by Joan More, chair of the Board of Supervisors of Elections (BOSE).

Of the candidates on the ballot, Robert T. Wu received 1,901 votes (28.18%), Neil Harris received 1,566 votes (23.21%) and Ryan Spiegel received 1,555 votes (23.05%). There were three individuals certified as write-in candidates for the 2019 election. A total of 1,104 write-in ballots were cast. The tallies for the write-in candidates will be conducted by hand when the BOSE meets to certify the election on November 6. The BOSE will review absentee and provisional ballots on November 7. Official results will be announced on November 8.

Once certified, the newly elected officials will be sworn in at a meeting of the Mayor & Council on Monday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. They will each serve a four-year term.

2,249 voters cast ballots at the polls, out of 36,526 registered voters, or 6.16%. Voter turnout in the 2017 City election for Mayor & two City Council members was 9.29%. The 2019 elections included two opportunities for early voting. Of the total ballots cast, 203 participated in the early voting sessions.
