Home Main MenuCity of Gaithersburg Junior Mayor Contest
Each year, the City conducts a Junior Mayor contest for fourth-grade students inspired by the statewide “If I Were Mayor…” essay contest, sponsored by Maryland Municipal League in partnership with the Maryland Mayors Association. This exciting contest gives aspiring Junior Mayors the opportunity to learn about local government, imagine what it’s like to lead the city, and share their ideas on ways to help our community thrive.
The City takes the MML Mayor’s Essay Contest a step further by selecting a winner specifically from our own community, a winner who will be named Gaithersburg’s Junior Mayor for a year.
This is your chance to make your voice heard and help shape the future of our city!
