The City of Gaithersburg’s Strategic Plan serves as a five year plan to advance the City’s vision and mission. The plan includes nine Strategic Outcome Areas, and each Outcome Area consists of one or more actional strategies. The City’s racial, equity, diversity, and inclusion work is directly connected to the fifth Outcome Area: Equitable Outcome

The Racial Equity Awareness & Action Plan provides a framework to progress the work and recommendations of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Gaithersburg Racial Equity Cohort. The plan identifies key actions to build awareness and capacity in the organization, align and enhance existing internal efforts to advance racial equity, identify key equity opportunities in each department, and explore community partnerships and alliances to leverage and scale the work across the community.
