Becraft Properties Annexation

An application has been filed by MB Becraft, LLC, petitioning the City to annex approximately 1.813 acres of land from Montgomery County into the City. The parcels subject to the annexation, described as Lots 2, 7, 9 & 11, Block B of the Oakmont Subdivision, Plat Book A Plat Number 20, straddle the boundary between the City of Gaithersburg and Montgomery County. The area of annexation consists of the portions of the four platted lots, which are currently not within the corporate boundaries of the City of Gaithersburg.

The annexation includes the following addresses: 212, 216 & 220 East Deer Park Drive and 309 Central Avenue.

The annexation petition requests annexation of the property and rezoning from Montgomery County’s R-200 (low density residential) to the City of Gaithersburg’s R-A (Low Density Residential) Zone. The property is located within the City’s Maximum Expansion Limits as identified within the Municipal Growth Element of the 2003 Master Plan.

Process Status

The Mayor & City Council approved Resolution R-51-18 authorizing the annexation and establishing R-A zoning for the property at their November 19, 2018 meeting. The annexation will become effective January 3, 2019.
