The existing wooden pier on Inspiration Lake in the Kentlands was removed for the safety of residents, it was taken out of service in 2019. It was demolished in early 2021. 

Fishing is allowed at Lake Inspiration & Lake Varuna in the Kentlands, as well as at Christman Park & at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm. Note that a non-tidal fishing license is required for anyone over the age of 18.

Project Status

The dock demolition has been completed and permits have been closed out. A new fishing pier replacement  was determined not to be feasible at this time due to several factors not limited to:  environmental, dam safety, maintenance cost, cost of the project, topography and American with Disability Act (ADA) requirements.
