The multi-use field at Robertson Park is being upgraded from a grass field to a synthetic turf field with an organic infill. This new synthetic turf system will allow for year round use, reduce the man-hours of maintenance typically necessary for grass fields, expand the playing times, and enhance the playing conditions for all users.

Status

The project was originally designed to be a non-infill synthetic turf system. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the original manufacturer went out of business and the City was not able to identify an alternative that was within the scope of this project. The organic infill system was approved by the Mayor & City Council on October 5, 2020. The contractor will complete the design, and then construction of the new synthetic turf system will begin by spring 2021, perhaps even earlier depending on the weather. The project is expected to be completed by summer of 2021.
