The Gaithersburg Chorus is a non-audition ensemble, open to those 16 and older, performing a variety of music from classical, to pop, to Broadway, and everything in between. The Chorus is a class, with sessions in the fall and spring. Director Daniel Hopkins provides weekly instruction on music theory, musicality and the mechanics of singing, including vocalization, voice control, proper breathing technique and voice projection. Previous experience not required.
Students looking for volunteer opportunities can earn SSL hours for participating in the Chorus. They must attend each weekly rehearsal.
Registration for Spring Chorus is now open. Sessions start on Tuesday, January 7, 7:30 p.m., followed by formal weekly rehearsals from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Rehearsals take place at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park.
