Gospel music, the uniquely American art form that gave rise to jazz, blues, R&B, and rock & roll will be celebrated in all of its glory as the City presents its virtual Jubilation Day Gospel Concert Extravaganza. Video performances of all styles of Gospel & Christian music by local & regional artists will be featured on the City’s Facebook page, Facebook event, and YouTube channel on Saturday, June 20.

This year’s gospel concert, now in its 14th year, features video performances by Kenneth Anderson, the Restoration Group from Church of Jesus Christ Restoration, Melvin Caldwell, The Chosen Vessels, and DiVine of Annapolis. This represents just a small sampling of the annual in-person event, which we hope will resume in June 2021, if it is safe to do so.

Due to the continuing public health crisis, the City of Gaithersburg is offering many virtual summer recreation classes, activities and events in lieu of in-person programs. Official City updates are made on the City’s website at and on Facebook & Twitter @GburgMD.
