An odd assortment of characters boards an ocean liner, but no one can remember where they’re headed. The lovers share a secret no one can know; a society lady bristles at having to dine alongside a low-brow charwoman; a young man drinks too much but sees through everything; and the mysterious ship steward seems to be the only crew member. When it’s revealed the ship is bound for Judgment Day, each passenger schemes to secure a heavenly afterlife—but the Examiner who decides their fate is not willing to bargain.

Outward Bound explores mortality and morality with sharp social commentary and touches of gallows humor.

Recommended for ages 12 & up.
