The winners of the 17th Annual Young Artist Award will be presented in concert on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. at the Arts Barn. Administered by the City and supported by the Kentlands Community Foundation, the Young Artist Award Competition is a juried event that provides talented musicians ages 12 to 18 with an enriching artistic experience.

Out of 44 participants, 17 awards were made across four categories. The jurors are professional musicians, teachers & educators who volunteer their time, energy and knowledge to foster the growth of the young artists. At the concert, Mayor Jud Ashman will present each winner with a monetary award, and each will also receive a glass presentation award donated by Tony Glander of Fitzgerald Glass. The winners of the vocal category are sponsored by the Gaithersburg Chorus, and they will have the opportunity to perform with the Chorus at its spring concert in May.
