Amazing Afternoons
The free Amazing Afternoons Program for students in grades 1–5 includes arts & crafts, indoor games, organized outdoor recreation, and homework time. A small snack is provided. Participants must attend the school where the program is offered.
Please note, programs will not be held when Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) are closed due to inclement weather or holidays.
Our programs frequently have a waitlist. To ensure that all interested students can participate, any student who misses more than 3 consecutive weeks without communication from a parent may be withdrawn from the program. If you would like to receive email updates, please provide a current email address.

Inclusion Program
The Inclusion Program provides free accommodations and support to ensure individuals with disabilities can fully participate in recreational activities, fostering an inclusive environment of friendship and acceptance.
Half Day Hooplas & Break Blasts
Our fun-filled Half Day Hooplas and Break Blasts programs offer engaging recreational activities for elementary school children on Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) half days and no school days. Students from any elementary school are welcome to attend, though parents are responsible for providing transportation to the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. The programs include designated activities or field trips. A small snack is provided for both programs, but children should eat lunch before Half Day Hooplas, while Break Blast participants must bring their own lunch.
You can find the schedule for upcoming Half Day Hooplas and Break Blasts in the calendar below. Click on the event to be taken to the online registration website.
