Exercise & Enjoy the Outdoors with Your Dog!

Just like humans, dogs need daily exercise to maintain a healthy physical and emotional balance. The City’s Dog Exercise Area (DEA) offers the ideal spot for unleashed dogs to run, play, and socialize in a safe, fenced environment.

Important Notice: In November, the grass section of the park and the water system will be closed for the winter season.

The DEA is exclusively for City residents, DEA Members and their guests. All dogs must be currently licensed with the City or their home jurisdiction to use the facility. Visitors from outside the City are encouraged to use similar facilities located elsewhere in Montgomery County.

Located in Green Park, the DEA spans approximately one acre of fenced land, divided into two sections. The upper level, about 17,000 sq. ft., has a bluestone dust ground cover, while the lower level, roughly 43,000 sq. ft., is grass-covered. Both levels feature benches, seasonal drinking water stations, and dog waste bag dispensers. The lower level also includes shaded areas with trees and a pavilion with seating.

The facility has ample free parking close to the upper level entrance.

Please be mindful of residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Only park in the designated DEA lot, not in the adjacent townhouse communities.

Rules & Guidelines

For the safety of all dogs and their human companions, please respect the facility and its users. Secure the outer gate immediately after entering or exiting. Do not open the inner gate until the outer gate is fully closed. Dog owners are required to follow all DEA rules, which can be found in the Documents section.

Please Note: Violating any of the rules may result in a fine of $100 per incident.

Use of the park is at your own risk. The Dog Exercise Area is not supervised. You are legally responsible for the dogs and people you bring to the facility, everything they do, your own safety and that of your dogs. The City assumes no responsibility or liability for any misconduct of dogs or their owners.

Additionally, for health and safety reasons, parts of the DEA may be closed for maintenance. The lower level may be closed for several weeks annually for turf maintenance.
