Owning a home doesn’t have to be an impossible dream. Bank On Gaithersburg & the Financial Wellness Coalition are hosting a free workshop to help residents explore the path to homeownership. This 90-minute seminar takes place in the Community Services offices at Wells/Robertson House.
Market leaders and mortgage lenders who are members of the Financial Wellness Coalition will discuss the pros & cons of homeownership, explain down payments, mortgage insurance, closings costs and other fees, and provide information on how to select real estate agents and mortgage lenders. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
While there is no cost to attend, reservations are required for planning purposes. Please contact Community Services Case Coordinator in the Community Services Division for details.
Housing programs administered by the City include Moderately Priced Dwelling Units & Workforce Housing Units, closing cost & down payment assistance for first time homebuyers, and deferred loans for homeowners & qualified tenants who wish to make their homes accessible. Housing counseling, eviction prevention and short-term rental assistance is also available to qualified residents.
