9 - 11 AM
The City is joining with Seneca Creek Community Church & Montgomery County government to host a morning of service projects that will benefit the most vulnerable in our community. Volunteers can engage in more than 20 activities suitable for a variety of ages and skill levels.
Among the planned activities (subject to change) are packaging meals for those experiencing homelessness, putting together hygiene kits for youth in foster care, crafting paracord bracelets and writing cards for our troops, making thank you banners for first responders, and assembling appreciation packets for teachers and local law enforcement officials. The day will also include a fun scavenger hunt featuring impactful messages from Dr. King, and a “Day of Service” selfie station that also includes census messages.
Pre-registration is required as space is limited & will reach capacity. The Gaithersburg location, now in its seventh year of operation, is one of multiple sites in Montgomery County hosting Day of Service activities. The others are in North Bethesda, Silver Spring, Germantown, Rockville & Olney. For more information & to register for all volunteer projects, visit the Montgomery County Volunteer Center website.
