The FY27 Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Community Service Grant Program is now open. The application deadline is 5:00 PM, October 31, 2025.

Starting September 5, 2025, until October 31, 2025, the City will issue a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications for FY27 Community Service Grants from eligible not-for-profit 501(c)(3) and/or 509(a)(1) organizations to provide critical community service programs to City families in the service areas of medical, mental health, vocational, food, housing preservation, immigration services, and services for older adults and people with disabilities.
I. Application Process
Review the Requirements*:
- Only 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) organizations that provide services and/or programs to individuals residing in the corporate City limits of Gaithersburg are eligible to apply.
- Register to attend a virtual Technical Information Session:
- September 9, 10-11:30AM
- September 12, 10-2:30PM
- September 16, 1-2:30PM
- September 19, 10-11:30AM

*All FY27 grant contracts will require coordination with the Gaithersburg Financial Empowerment Center.
Complete the Application
- The Community Service Grant Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) outlines eligibility criteria, application requirements, and deadlines. Interested organizations should review the NOFO carefully for detailed instructions on how to apply.
- Complete the application and submit by 5 PM, October 31, 2025.
II. Submit All Materials
To ensure a complete application, all applicants must submit the following required materials as outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Incomplete applications may not be considered for funding.
- Logic Model
- Budget spreadsheet
- Staff resume(s)
- Three (3) letters of support
- Recent audit, financial statement, or compilation for most recent completed operating year
- IRS Form 990 for most recent completed operating year
- IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter
- Proof of Good Standing with the state where organized
- Volunteer organizations only: Affidavit certifying compliance with Maryland workers compensation
- Board roster identifying officers, titles, and term limits
- Copies of your company’s professional registrations, affiliations and memberships (if applicable)
Youth Education and Enrichment & Parent Resource Center Grant Programs
The City of Gaithersburg’s Community Services Division, in collaboration with the Educational Enrichment Committee (EEC) and the Community Advisory Committee (CAC), is not accepting applications for Youth Education and Enrichment or Parent Resource Center programs at this time.
