Monetary donations are now being accepted for the 2018 Gaithersburg Holiday Giving Program. We thank the many individuals, businesses, organizations and faith based institutions that have given so generously to this program for the past 20 plus years.
The City anticipates serving more than 600 families that have been referred by nonprofit organizations and schools at Thanksgiving and more than 1,500 children during the December holidays this year. Monetary and in-kind donations allow for the distribution of food, clothing and toys to delighted families who shared in the collective holiday joy of the Gaithersburg community. The City is also seeking the donation of new hat, scarf and glove sets and teen gift bags.
In 2018, opportunities for giving include financial contributions, sponsorships and the donation of gift bags for teens and older adults. Volunteers who can help provide administrative support to the program are also needed.
Holiday Giving program donation forms are available in the Documents section. If you would like more information regarding sponsorships and how the gift bag donation program works, please call Community Services.
To ensure non-duplication of service, Gaithersburg’s Holiday Giving program operates in conjunction with a countywide project, coordinated by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services. Area schools, social service and nonprofit organizations make referrals to a centralized database, and those living in Gaithersburg are then referred to our Community Services Division for assistance.
