The City's Environmental Affairs Committee is planning its biannual Fix‑It Fair on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Casey Community Center. Community members are invited to bring broken personal items—such as toasters, bicycles, lamps, textiles, and more—to be repaired for free.
Are you passionate about sustainability and community building? Join us as a Volunteer Event Organizer and help bring the Fix‑It Fair to life! Organizers support planning, logistics, and day‑of coordination for this unique event where residents bring broken items to be repaired for free—helping reduce waste and strengthen community connections.
Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in event planning and coordination while making a meaningful impact.
If you are interested in volunteering as an event organizer, please contact Environmental Specialist Gita Lekhram at environment@gaithersburgmd.gov.
